LOVELAND – The BizWest Economic Forecast 2022, which will be released on January 27, will outline potential headwinds and tailwinds that will impact the regional economy in the coming year.
Richard Wobbekind, Senior Economist at the University of Colorado at Boulder and Associate Dean of the Leeds School of Business, will open the event with a keynote.
Lunch will be at 11 a.m. and continue until 1:30 p.m. at the Embassy Suites Conference Center in Loveland. Registration can be done here. COVID-19 vaccination protocols will be in place. Early bird tickets will sell for $49.49 for BizWest subscribers and $54.49 for non-subscribers until January 8, when prices will jump to $59.49 and $64.49, respectively.
Wobbekind will join a panel of economic experts for a panel discussion moderated by Sher Gibbs, Dean of the University of Northern Colorado Monfort College of Business. Gibbs, who holds a doctorate in business administration, has launched four companies during his career. His research focuses on entrepreneurship and opportunity recognition.
Also on the panel will be:
- Richard Barkham, chief global economist for commercial real estate firm CBRE. He also holds a Ph.D. and leads CBRE’s 600-member research team.
- Christine Triantos, director of the international accounting firm BDO USA. She leads the firm’s business services and outsourcing division.
- Kevin Unger, President of UCHealth North Region, who will moderate the panel discussion on health issues affecting the economy.
- Shawn Osthoff, President of the Bank of Colorado, will examine the financial issues at play in the economy.
The event will follow COVID-19 vaccination protocols due to the spread of the highly contagious Omicron variant. Proof of vaccination or a negative test within 72 hours of the event will be required of all event attendees, staff and volunteers. Proof of vaccination or negative test must be presented upon check-in.
