Minister of State for Science, Technology and Innovation (STI), Henry Ikechukwu Ikoh, said that the federal government is constantly monitoring the strengthening of the national science, technology and innovation policy. innovation to enable the country to achieve economic diversification and growth.
Ikoh said this during the inauguration of the Technical Committee on the Revised National Science, Technology and Innovation Policy (NSTIP) Implementation Plan 2022, today in Abuja.
He noted that the policy was launched at the STI EXPO held in March 2022 in Abuja and reiterated the efforts of the Federal Government to create jobs, stimulate the economy, reduce poverty and unemployment through to STI in the country.
The Minister said that the inauguration of the technical committee on the implementation plan of the revised National Science, Technology and Innovation Policy (NSTIP) of 2022 aims to achieve the sustainable socio-economic objectives of the Nigeria.
To this end, Chief Ikoh urged the members of the Committee to exercise their duty diligently in order to complete their mission within 4 weeks of the inauguration.
Taking the floor, the Chairman of the Technical Committee, Dr. John Omimakinde commended the Minister for giving them the opportunity to serve, and pledged that the mandate given to them will be completed within the given time frame.
