However, Chinese customs have adjusted the quality standards for imported cherries so that products from Turkey, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan have also entered the Chinese market quickly, meaning the competition is fiercer.

According to the report, the import volume of cherries in 2020 is estimated to exceed 300,000 tons. By 2024, the volume of imports would exceed 430,000 tonnes, with a market value of approximately USD 3.05 billion.
