Moscow, October 22 (EFE) .- The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bolivia, Rogelio Mayta, today assured that his country is very interested in the participation of large Russian companies in the development of the national economy, when he met in Moscow his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov.
The head of Bolivian diplomacy described as “very positive” the presence in the Andean country of state consortia such as the gas company Gazprom or the Russian nuclear agency Rosatom.
âWe had a very fruitful meeting. We continue to work on our vast bilateral program, âhe said at the joint press conference.
Mayta, who delivered a message from Bolivian President Luis Arce to Lavrov to Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin, called bilateral relations “excellent”.
MAJOR ENERGY PROJECTS
To begin with, he said he was confident that senior Russian officials will participate in the meeting of the joint commission which should take place at the end of November or December in La Paz to “continue to move forward in defining the bilateral agenda”.
One of the sectors with the greatest potential is energy, in which Gazprom has already been present for years in the Incahuasi field, one of the most important in the Latin American country.
In addition, he revealed that this consortium presented a proposal to participate in the public call for tenders for the exploitation of lithium “by direct extraction technology”, called to reactivate its industrialization projects.
âIt is valued by the competent entities. We are sure it will be very positive if it is done, âhe said.
